~RENTAL POLICIES & PROCEDURES~
HOW DOES PRICING WORK?
Rates are quoted for a daily, single use rental. If you require a longer rental period please contact us for rate information (Daily, Weekly, and Monthly). All charges are for time out whether the items are used or not. Rental quotes are valid for 30 days.
HOW AND WHEN DO I PAY?
A non-refundable reservation fee is required at the time of booking your order. This fee will be applied towards your total rental bill when the order is fulfilled. Payment can be made in any of the following ways: credit card, Interac, cash or personalized cheque with ID. Upon making your reservation, the items will be reserved for you on your specific date. As these items will be made unavailable to other clients, if you do cancel your reservation you will forfeit your reservation fee. Final payment must be made before the items are released. A credit card number or cash deposit must be left as a security deposit for rental items until they are returned.
EQUIPMENT AVAILABILITY
A rental quotation does not guarantee equipment availability. Equipment availability can only be confirmed once reservation has been confirmed.
CAN I CHANGE OR CANCEL ITEMS?
Your satisfaction is of the utmost importance to us. The day you confirm your order the items are considered out of our inventory for your date and thus made unavailable to other potential customers. This ensures you will have all the items you need on the date you require them. We realize that changes in numbers have to be expected and therefore we have the following policies:
* Additional items may be added (subject to availability) up to the close of business the day prior to delivery or pick-up. These items will be billed separately.
* Reductions in your requirements can be made without penalty as long as they are made no later than 7 days prior to your event. Reductions in your requirements made within 7 days of your event are subject to a cancellation fee equal to 50% of the total rental rate of the cancelled item(s) plus taxes.
** Cancellations made with less than 24 hours notice shall remain due for the full value of the rental.
Rental deposits shall be non-refundable with less than 72 hours notice.
WHAT HAPPENS IF EQUIPMENT IS BROKEN, DAMAGED OR LOST?
The customer is responsible for the goods from the time of pick-up/delivery until the items are returned to SPL Sound. Be sure that all equipment is secure and protected from the weather while it is in your possession. Our insurance does not cover equipment while it is in your possession.
SECURITY
The safety and security of the rental equipment once out of SPL warehouse becomes the sole responsibility of the renter. Since the renter shall be liable for all lost, damaged or stolen equipment it is the renter’s responsibility to secure the said equipment at all times. In the circumstances where employees of or hired labour from SPL exist onsite, the safety and security of the rental equipment shall continue to remain the responsibility of the renter. At no time shall SPL be responsible for lost, stolen or damaged equipment while it remains out of our warehouse.
WHAT ABOUT INSURANCE
Rental equipment is not insured outside of the SPL warehouse. Insurance for rental equipment shall remain the responsibility of the renter and the renter shall be liable for the full value of the said equipment upon completion of the rental period and lost rental income plus any expenses that accrues to the company as a result of the unavailability of the said equipment.
HOW DOES DELIVERY & PICK UP WORK?
Delivery is available at reasonable rates. Delivery rates are based on drop off to a point immediately accessible to our truck tailgate, usually your curbside, driveway or garage. All deliveries require a signature of the responsible party for equipment to be left. Should you require delivery beyond our truck tailgate or set-up and take down of items, please request a quote prior to delivery. Delivery times are set on the week of delivery.
Our trucks will deliver until their schedule is complete. Should you have special delivery requests, please contact us and we will do our best to accommodate your needs. As there are many deliveries in a day it is not always possible to give exact delivery times.
LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY
Subject to the terms and conditions on the rental contract; SPL guarantees the proper operation of all equipment at the time of the release to the renter. Any equipment failures must be reported immediately. Equipment must not be tampered with in any way (including minor repairs); SPL will not be liable for any injuries, including death resulting from misuse of or tampering with the said equipment. Nor will SPL be liable for costs due to equipment failure that may lead to delayed, reduced or cancelled events.
PLEASE CHECK TO MAKE SURE YOUR ORDER IS COMPLETE
We do our best to make sure your order is complete. If you discover any missing or damaged items, please contact us immediately so we can address the issue in a timely manner or make a note on your contract and you will not be charged.
RETURN
To avoid additional rental charges, rental items need to be returned to SPL Sound on the specified return time and date.1086 richter st
